Pie Time!

Pie Time!

When my GrandPal Julia was a child, she and her two siblings, Mark and Marion, would come home from school to see half of a pie sitting on the kitchen table. Her mom would make pie every single Monday. Julia's mother would make all kinds of pies, but most of the time they would have apple because they had an apple tree in their backyard. Before they got home from school, her dad would eat the first half of the pie and her mom would have a piece.

The whole house smelled like sweet and yummy homemade pie! The second they walked into the house, Julia would sit down with her siblings and start eating pie! Growing up, Julia always thought it was normal to have pie every single day except for weekends, until her friend told her she was having pie for her birthday and Julia said, "Isn't that normal? You don't have pie every single day!"

That same day, Julia realized she had a very special childhood and, to this day, looks back on it and smiles. Although Julia's mother is now in heaven, Julia still has the recipe for the wonderful pies she made.
