When Carol was younger she was a child and youth worker. Carol worked in many high schools and elementary schools in Brampton and Mississauga. She was working from the age of 20 until she was 59. Carol was a child and youth worker for over 35 years!
Carol is a very strong person and she has very strong feelings. The student writer remembered Carol as patient and focused on helping the young people she supported. Carol loved her job. She started working as a child and youth worker because she enjoyed working with kids and she’s a good problem solver.
She became a guidance counsellor and worked with teenagers in high schools and kids in elementary schools. She loved working with teenagers and helping them to solve their problems. Students in her schools often had problems such as anxiety, depression, problems at home and bullying, to name a few.
This was not her only job, she was also an itinerant child and youth worker, and also supported other youth workers and staff at several schools. It is so great to have people like Carol in this world willing to help troubled teenagers. She hopes that bullying will one day be gone forever.
